The National Liberal Club
The National Liberal Club (NLC) is a private members club in the heart of Westminster at which the Society has held many events in the past. After a brief hiatus of late when we have used other venues, we are pleased that in 2025 we have renewed our relationship with the NLC, who will be hosting many of our upcoming events when suitable accommodation is available.
In particular, our scholarly meetings in March, May, and October are scheduled to be held at the NLC.
This partnership may also lead to mutual benefits. Some members of the National Liberal Club may choose to join the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, and likewise, members of our Society may be interested in joining the NLC. While the NLC has both political and non-political membership categories, they have assured us that they are fully aware of—and respect—the non-political nature of our Society.
The only condition for membership at the NLC is:
“All we ask of our members is that they don’t use the Club premises for any activities that are harmful to the cause of Liberalism.”
More information about the Club and its membership can be found on their website: https://nlc.org.uk or alternatively email membership@nlc.org.uk .
