no. 467, August 2026
Edited by Holly Turner
Welcome to your August edition of the DM. As I write, we are between rain showers, which feels like a big novelty! The main Sherlockian news for me this month has been a flurry of updates from the Fogtown team, including a taster version of their game A Rum Case in Fogtown. I’ll provide a micro-review in the next edition. In personal news, I should hopefully be moving into my first house in September, so please forgive me if my replies to emails become more sporadic.
Sheer Luck Holmes
Sheer Luck Holmes, a brand new comedy murder mystery from the team behind Fawlty Towers the Dining Experience, will embark on a UK national tour in October. The show is described as ‘part immersive theatre, part murder mystery and entirely ridiculous’. It invites audiences to join Holmes, Watson and Mrs Hudson as they attempt to recreate one of Holmes’s most recent cases.
The only problem is that Watson and Mrs H are not exactly seasoned actors, leading to theatrical disasters and slapstick mayhem. The tour dates and further information are available on the production company’s website.
